Leaving Walker, going north to Nevada

Walker, CaliforniaSep 14, 20120 Comments

After miles of double yellow line no passing, a dotted line appears allowing passing. But it is impossible to pass because the double yellow line starts again too soon. You speed up to get back in but you get a crossing the double yellow line ticket because it can’t be done. You don’t get a speeding ticket, you get a double yellow line violation ticket, but it is still a trap (not technically a speed trap).

Walker, CaliforniaFeb 19, 20110 Comments

The section of U.S. 395 around Walker CA (~30 mi. north of bridgeport) has an eager staff of officers who use "camera" to assess people’s speed. The officers like to pull motorists over as they are leaving the town of Walker and have entered the 55 mi/hr speed zone. The officers claim(lie) that the motorist was speeding within the town speed limit (45mi/hr) and use camera as proof (no radar).
