Lark Ellen Avenue near Amar Road

West Covina, CaliforniaOct 18, 20070 Comments

Motorcycle cops (and sometimes patrol cars) hide right inside the visitors’ parking lot where the apartments are on the left (East) side of the road, if you are heading Southbound on Lark Ellen Avenue to make a left or right turn on Amar Road. Most of the time the biker cop hides behind the wall and you can barely see his or her white helmet through the railings, with the radar gun sticking out. It’s a smooth, winding way down which makes it easy for a lot of motorists to go beyond the posted 40 mph limit. Most of the time you’ll end up going at 50 mph easily without even noticing it.

There are times that after making a left turn on Amar Road, the cop would be hiding by the first small road you see on your left, on the other side of the road. The cop is harder to see in this location, but rare.

Service Ave. In between Larkellen and Valinda. speed limit is 25 but many travel 40mph, easily. There is usually a cop on a bike on the little side street,Pima. It’s about half way down Service Ave. I know too many people that have received a ticket on that street.

WCPD motor cop sits in driveway of residence, hidden by tall bushes, directly across from elementary school. Majority of traffic is traveling at 40mph and he racks up city revenue for violators of the 25mph school zone.

Long downhill on Amar Rd. between Nogales and Azusa. Usually a cop car hidden on one of the side streets with radar/lidar gun. Speed limit is 45mph. Saw many clueless kids in riced-out cars get nabbed. Don’t be a schmuck; let off the gas on the long downhill and try to stay within 50mph.
