Slauson Avenue near Between Overhill and Alviso Street

Windsor Hills, CaliforniaOct 24, 20070 Comments

There is a large sloping hill going East on Slauson Ave. Officers stand on motorbikes at the bottom of the hill just waiting for speeds to increase above 35 mph. Unless you know about the trap it’s fairly impratical to maintain a speed of 35 mph because of the steep incline of the hill, making it a natural speed trap. you’ll get up to 50 easily going down the hill if you’re not paying attention. I drive this hill every day and have to make a conscious effort not to go above the speed limit.

Coming down the hill traveling east on Slauson Avenue, (from Angeles Vista/Buckler), the speed limit is 35 mph, however, you are coming down a hill so speed is increased. One block west of Alviso Ave, there is a Motorcycle cop sitting with a Radar gun, just waiting for you to come down speeding. Slow down on the hill, it helps the people behind you from speeding.

Stocker Street near Valley Ridge Street

Windsor Hills, CaliforniaFeb 22, 20070 Comments

Heading North on Stocker between Don Lorenzo and Valley Ridge is a steep downgrade. Although traffic moves swiftly, the street is often congested and drivers tend to follow each other closely. The speed limit is 50MPH. After you pass the light at Valley Ridge, the street levels out a bit, but it is still downhill. There is a 50MPH speed limit sign just 10 feet from the Valley Ridge light, then as the street levels a bit more, another sign that reads 40MPH just approx. 20-25 feet from the previous sign. It is very difficult and impractical to reduce your speed on a busy downhill street by 10MPH in 20-25 feet without slamming on the brakes and causing an accident. However, just another 40-50 feet ahead, there is a motorcycle cop waiting to give you a ticket.
