Inside city limits

Akron, ColoradoDec 15, 20150 Comments

Roads leading into Akron are 65 mph, but once in the town speeds drops to 25 mph. If you miss the sign you would think the speed limit is at a min 35 mph due to the straightness of the road and each direction of traffic two lanes. I’ve seen at least one patrolman sitting inside that 25 mph zone to pick of anyone who fails to notice the 25 mph zone. There is not a school zone, only a small town trying to make money off all the unaware travelers.

Between Otis and Akron

County mounties and state patrol sit along the railroad tracks behind a hill on the south side of highway 34. Sometimes multiple cars sitting there.
You can see them if your westbound but they’re hidden from eastbound traffic.
