Brighton, Colorado Speed Traps
Buckley Road at 130th (I-76 overpass area)
Entire segment of Buckley Road from 120th (that morphs into 27th Avenue in the Prairie shopping center) is fair game–speed limit is at an unrealistically low 40 mph for a country lane, but a favorite spot for clocking is at 130th just before the 4-lane overpass that apparently is considered a traffic hazard at anything over 40 mph inspite of there being no access ramps. Even across the overpass in the Prairie Village Shopping Center on 27th the speed limit is 45 mph.
136th on overpass to HWY 76
They sit on the 136th overpass and nail you on 76
27th and Southern
The police like to sit in the parking lot of the Zion Congregational Church and wait for cars to go by. The speed limit drops from 35 to 30 in the residential zone.
27th and Egbert
They sit by the tree in the mornings around 6:00am and wait for the cars while hiding in the shadows of the trees just past Egbert heading south.
Main St. and Egbert
This is a 4 way stop. Cops like to sit right at the front Enterance of MoJo’s, now that the bar is closed they can sit there for hours watching the intersection without impeding traffic. Make sure you come to a complete stop, then go.
