Quebec St. at Cornell (Between Yale & Dartmouth)

Motorcycles often set up to nail people coming from either direction. It’s an easy ticket for them, since traffic from both directions has just come from around a bend. Speed limit is 30, even though there are no adjacent front yards, and there’s a monster median/barrier between lanes. 40 seems more like a normal speed, and it’s what most people normally travel on this stretch.

S. Santa Fe Dr. @ W. Evans Ave. N

This trap consists of a white unmarked minivan sitting next to the road under the W. Evans overpass. The van can be identified by the silver flash bulbs hanging off the rear and front on the drivers side. The photos they take are quite clear so smile if you are speeding, but don’t let the flash startle you into driving off the road like I nearly did. The speed limit is 45 along Santa Fe Dr. but this is totally unrealistic. I’ve never driven on this road under 55. This of course applies to non-rush hour traffic because during the rush hour, traffic just crawls along. Luckily, the ticket is only $40 even though I was clocked at 18 mph over the limit. Also, the ticket I got via certified mail indicates, "This violation will not be a part of your driving record and no points will be assessed."

The officer’s sit under the I-70 bridge. You will see him right as to go around a bend. The area is a 55mph zone. But most people think it’s a 65mph zone.
