Denver, Colorado Speed Traps

Just got pulled over here on the way to work this morning. Apparently the speed limit for this stretch is 30 mph (which is completely absurd considering the location). I was cited for going 46 mph in a 30 mph zone and given a $170 ticket. Extortion at it’s best. I wonder what denver police officers would do if (god forbid) they had to deal with real crime…

After exiting Highway 25 north heading westward onto Colfax parallel to Sports Authority Stadium drop the highway speeds ASAP as W Colfax is 40 MPH here. Just before Federal keep an eye out for motorbike mounted officers in front of the Federal underpass.

Motorcycle patrolman hiding on or under overpass for Return-to-Airport ramp. 65mph then 45 then 35, but 35 is only marked by slowly flashing dim yellow light atop speed limit sign way off to the side of the distracting terminal/airline mega sign across the entire highway as well as a few other signs to distract you at that point.

Favorite location for photo radar – speed limit drips to 30 thru the area

A new red-light stop camera added at Denver General Hospital- westbound on 8th Ave at Speer. No warning sign as required by MUTCD (of course), just a “Stop Here on Red”.
