Secret police in unmarked car parked appx. 1/2 ml. E. of Washington Street on westbound Highway 58 (State Hwy 58). I know that it was a police car because I saw him run his lights. Golden is a notorious speed-trap town.

Several mile stretch on W. 32 from McIntyre St. to Ford St.

Depending on the direction one is driving the speed limit signage is different. Going SW into Golden signs just prior to the intersection at McIntyre are 35. At 1/4 mile before McIntyre the sign goes to 25 for about 200 yds. Right after McIintyre suggested caution speed of 20 mph is indicated due to gentle curves. As the street begins to straighten out there is no signage for a mile or so. I followed a white SUV for about 2 miles that proceeded at 25 mp and then to 20. Finally there appears a 35 mile per hr. sign and the SUV continues at 20 mph. Some moments later the driver pulls over as to let me pass and I then see the sign on his door says Jefferson County Sheriffs office. I accelerate slowly and go about 100 yrds and he flashes his lights , pulls me over to tell me he "had" me going to 38 mph. He also informs me the speed limit sign where he "pulled over" says 25 mph. This is the second time in 10 years this kind of thing has happened to me. It is no doubt a great revenue generator.

Going west on 32nd from McIntyre to Ford

An officer from Jefferson County Sheriffs office driving in an unmarked car traveling between 20 – 25 mph in a 35mph zone for about a mile or two; he pulls over right before the Coors Plant to let me drive past; I pick up some speed to about 35 mph as there is no traffic and great visibility. He turns on his lights and and pulls me over and says I was going 38 in a 25 mph zone and gives me a $160 4 point ticket. Since I drive this route a lot and never noticed the lower signs II asked when the speed was lowered and he said it does not matter. After the citation was written and I pulled out Heb made a U turn and went back to find more fresh meat. Can you tell me if the signage changed recently?
