Hwy 26 toward I-70 going north-by Red Rocks from Morrison

Golden, ColoradoJan 12, 20110 Comments

Speeds on Hwy 26 from Morrison toward the I-70 ramps to the north and Golden vary from 25 to 55 and a police car is almost always stationed on the east (right) side of Hwy. 26 as the speed limit drops from 55 to 35- this is the highway that goes by Red Rocks as you approach I-70. Very expensive tickets if you are not paying close attention. ALSO be sure you obey the white-line lane markers at the roundabouts on Old Golden Road going into Golden. If you switch lanes in the roundabout it is a ticket.

The Golden Gauntlet

Golden, ColoradoMay 22, 20100 Comments

Multi jurisdiction gauntlet that should be feared. In town, they are everywhere and most speed limits are 25. On highway 6, it’s 55, and you’ll deal with the state boys, JeffCo, and Golden City(all of which have HQ’s in Golden). This is in addition to the wannabes from Colo School of Mines who will call in one of the above. This town is probably one of the worst traps that I’ve ever been through in my life(and I lived there 5 years).

East Bound I-70 near Morrison, CO Exit

Golden, ColoradoApr 26, 20101 Comments

While going down this hill from the mountains. There are 2 places they camp out one place is on a blind curve after runaway truck ramp. An undercover cop likes to hang out here. The other one is watch out going down the hill in general. Sometimes there is an aircraft clocking you. Cops are then waiting on the overpass of the Morrison exit waiting to pull you over.
