Grand Junction, Colorado Speed Traps
Speed limits change below and above the river bridge. Bridge is monitored closely, watch your speed.
Watch Out! There is a drastic change in the speed limit going into the canyon – bothe east & west. In order to keep up with the flow of traficc you have to go at least 20 mph over the limit (flow is usally at 75 – limit is 55-65mph) they often post Troopers at the East side entrance to the canyon on the west bound lanes but I have seem them throughout. ***** Also beware because te officers have done traffic stings where they will actually stand in traffic (out of their vehicles) in orange vest and flag cars down**** Ridiculous but it happens (I have and "associate at the department but I have also seen it all for myself!) – Be Careful In Here!
Motorcycle officers are out here almost every AM. there is usually two patrolling (one for each direction of trafic). just remember the speed limit is 45 East of the F Rd intersection(next to Muniz Autos)and 55 West of ehre – it’s easy to get in a hurry so watch out. They hide behind the overpass for the Redlands bridge.
GJPD hide behind a 2FT wall just of the ortodontist office.
If you are Westbound around 5:30 A.M. beware. I got a $75.00 ticket
Following the canal up and down 31 road, officers often wait behind the turns in the road waiting for lunch traffic from students.
