Grand Junction, Colorado Speed Traps
Beware…comming over the 5th Street bridge. With all the construction, this site is being monitored. The police presence is not consistant, which makes it ever harder to predict. It is only 1/2 a mile that the speed is reduced…take that 1/2 mile slow!
There is a motorcycle policeman that sits on the side street and points his radar gun at oncoming traffic. He probably tickets 5-6 motorists a day. It is real strong between 7:30am and 9am. Slow down. Its not worth it.
Wait at bottom of hill for motorists heading towards town
Mesa County Sherriff likes to park in the Church lot across from Redlands Middle School. He camps out there while the school zone (25mph) lights are on. Heading east on 340 it’s difficult to see him, especially with the morning sun in your eyes. Stay a couple of miles under the speed limit or else…
As you travel along the Bookclifs near mt. Garfield. keep and eye in the median for marked and unmarked (green ford crown victorias) the speedlimit is 75 here but many people are at 80-85. usually they are easy to spot from a distance.
