County Road 100 & 85

Nunn, ColoradoMay 03, 20120 Comments

Driving in on County Road 100 going east into Nunn just before 85. The Speed limit is 55mph and then drops to 35mph with only a sign set less than two tenths of a mile before the 35mph sign stating “Reduce Speed Ahead”. They sit right across from 100 on the other side of 85. As you turn either north or south on 85 you will be pulled over. They do not give you any proper warning to reduce your speed in enough time. Less than two tenths of a mile is not enough time to reduce your speed without slamming on your brakes. I was slowing down, but was caught doing 43mph in a 35mph zone. I could have been let off with a warning, as it showed I was trying to reduce my speed. If they were not setting this up as an obvious speed trap they would have a proper speed sign positioned further up the road at 45mph. Maybe with the money they received from me, $155.00 for one point, they can now put in the proper speed sign. This is from someone with over twenty-five years of experience driving with a CDL and who has driven all over the country with a clean driving record until now. The town of Nunn needs money as to the fact the cop car looked like it was falling apart and most of the roads in town are not even paved.

When Nunn can get a policeman to work, they like to camp in by the resturant and catch north and southbound 85 traffic. Southbound and Northbound the speed slows from 65 to 45. Radar gun seems to be made of spare parts but the cop think it works.
