East bound approaching Pagosa Springs
Posted speed of 60 becomes 45 as approach Fairfield, then becomes 35,30,25 as you come down a hill into town. Watch this one closely as it is almost always patroled
Between Hwy. 151 and Yellow Creek pass
State Hwy. patrol hides in this area. If you are traveling Eastbound and over
65mph you will be stopped near the intersection of Hwy. 151 and Hwy. 160.
If you are traveling Westbound, watch your speed near the Piedra river.
Wolf Creek Pass Ascent-East Bound
Posted limit goes to 35 mph just before Treasure Falls (it’s necessary), and stays 35 to just past the Scenic Overlook. However the reduced speedis very hard to maintain! There are three curves that need the 35, the one at Treasure Falls, a "hairpin" entering a "switchback" (the next serious corner) and the one at the Scenic Overlook. I got nailed for 45 in the 35 between Treasure Falls and the first hairpin. In CO that’s over $100!
