Randolph Road

Trap located on large hill (approximately the area of Ridge Road). If trap is in effect, a patrol car will be parked in the parking lot of the city maintenance facility, which is about halfway down the large hill. If you have a radar detector, it may give some warning as you’re approaching the crest of the hill, but there’s no way to see the patrol car until it’s too late. Several friends have been nailed in this trap, because in oder to stay below the 35 mph speed limit, you have to ride the brakes the whole way down.

I-91 Exit 20 Underpass

Often a single trooper will park on the grass right near the exit ramp clocking drivers. I’ve seen as many as 4 other troopers stationed on the on-ramp on the other side ready to swoop down and pull over offenders. Because the road (Country Club Rd) is above the highway and passes over it, drivers can’t see the other troopers until they have passed

Locations tend to be far north of "The Tunnel" (in North Haven) as far north as the Maintenance (last) exit. 4 out 5 days during the week. Usually one cruiser parked on the shoulder, or on the grass.
