Valley Road near State Route 41
NCC police sit on westbound side of Valley Road just west of Southwood Road. Speed limit is 25. Increased speed is necessary to cross intersection at Valley and Rt 48. Motorists must consciously brake after intersection to obey posted speed.
Valley Road near Between Rt. 41 and Rt. 7
Radar is typically across the street form Swift Park or the Hockessin Library. Sometimes, county police officers will sit in both directions catching speeding motorists through the 25MPH zone of Valley Road.
McKenna’s Church Road near Near McKean High School Flashing Light
Traveling North on McKenna’s Church Road you pass the yellow blinking McKean High School light which has a limit of 20mph, whether school is in or not. The police sit up the road about 1/4 mile on the right in a residential driveway obstructed by large evergreens. So slow down to 20mph at the light and look ahead to see if any cars have been pulled over. Good luck.
North Star Road near State Route 7
North Star Road is very hilly, and County police like to hide in neighborhood entrances at the tops and bottoms of the hills. Speed limit of 35 MPH is aggressively enforced.
Loveville Road near Old Wilmington Road
New Castle County PD will park in the driveway of the Wilmington Christian school and catch drivers as they come down the hill from Lancaster Pike heading toward Old Wilmington Rd. PD use hand held radar and strictly enforce the 25 mph limit as cars come down the hill at 45mph.
