Washington, District of Columbia Speed Traps
600 block Kenilworth Ave NW
Photo radar, speed limit changes from 50 to 25 and you’re nabbed. After the camera it goes back up to 35. This trap made the local news: http://www.nbcwashington.com/traffic/transit/Speed-Camera-Catches-Many-for-Thousands-in-Fines-374955021.html
2200 BLK SOUTH DAKOTA AVE NE SE/B
This is an incredibly unfair speed trap located after a red light to catch motorists accelerating to enter the highway.
Park Place NW (Southbound), near Kenyon Street NW
If you are over in Park View heading down toward Michigan Avenue, be careful! There is usually a Police Car parked in the right lane, often hiding between other parked cars. The policeman uses a radar gun and takes your picture, and then you get a ticket in the mail a few weeks later. The speed limit is only 25 MPH and so keep it slow or you could get an expensive ticket in the mail!
3600 Massachusetts Avenue NW
I didn’t see the speed trap, but I got a ticket in the mail from the DC DMV that sited that exact location as where I was speeding, so there must be a speed trap within a block of that location on Mass ave.
