Washington, District of Columbia Speed Traps
Exit 1 295 South
No speed limit signs anywhere, passed a dump truck had to speed up to
pass, I received ticket in the mail. No signs regarding this behavior,
pure entrapment. DC needs money to balance its budget.
2200 Blk K St NW
Georgetown. Automatic camera snaps you when going under the bridge; must be a 25mph speed limit zone.
600 Blk of Missouri Avenue NW
During the month of July, I had to drive to upper NW, Tenleytown area. Unbeknowst to me, anyone who leaves Tenleytown to return to DC, will be tickted in the 600 Blk of Missouri Ave NW. The speed limit is VERY low (25 MPH), so of course, you’ll be ticketed. The tickets are $125 each.
off ramp to Main Ave.
Road sign reduce from 55 miles per hour to 40 going to fork to the right towards Main Ave.
North Capitol St. NW before the bridge above Irving St.
There is an unidentified SUV or van (sometimes a patrol) equiped with speed detectors and cameras, parked on a specially created spot on the shoulder o the side going inbound. This is usually at peak hours on weekdays and weekends. The speed limit is set of 30mph in a long sector of North Capitol going downhill, which is ridiculous. The car wait for speeders at the end of the hill.
