Bartow, Florida Speed Traps
On 555 heading south near the softball fields
Right before as you pass Bartow Park if you glance to the left there is usually a cop sitting right there with his radar gun behind the trees. Most commonly there in the late afternoon and early morning. The speed limit there is 45, but most people do at least 50, but watch out!
State Highway 60 East near 60 Business Route Bypass
Every day between 12:30 pm and 2:00 the same State Trooper is in the median waiting to pull someone traveling west as they come over the hill from Connersville. And without fail, he achieves his goal.

US Highway 17 near State Highway 60
Going south on Highway 17 from Winter Haven approaching Bartow, the speed limit drops from 65 to 55 to 45 in less than 500 yards. Bartow police are very happy to let you know that you missed one of the speed limit signs. They hang out just north of the Highway 60 intersection in the shadows of the buildings there and are impossible to see.

15mph school zone, two or three Bartow police sitting outside the Bartow High parking lot, one on radar, the others busting people, usually students and parents from the school but sometimes people passing through, they’re quite aggressive about it. They also probably work Broadway by the school, which is 4 lane, 15mph school zone, but I don’t know, don’t usually go that way.
