Boca Raton, Florida Speed Traps
SW 18th Street, west of the Turnpike Overpass
Heading east on SW 18th Street from Lyons Road, there is a bend. People have the tendency of speeding through that bend. BSO officers use laser and radar to catch you. They hide off to the side on the right hand corner of the intersection. Drivers, beware.
Camino Real between Military Trail and Powerline Road
Police sit in the grass median, often behind trees with radar guns aiming at both east and westbound traffic. They will also sit near the entrance different residential subdivisions so that drivers don’t look for them in the same spot. Speed limit is 45 MPH and drivers often exceed 55-60 on this road.
Cop stands in front of EMT station on Lyons Rd.
When you are Northbound on Lyons Rd. between Glades Rd. and Yamato Rd COP stands in front of EMT station just south of Century Village on Glades. His Hand Held Radar Gun is pointing South.
On 5th Avenue on the east side between Palmetto Pk & Federal
motorcycle police with radar gun usually in a.m. I got two tickets at two different times. Speed limit is 30mph most like me go 40mph.
441 Between Glades Rd & Palmetto Park
On 441, and on the block after you pass Palmetto & begin approaching Glades, on the left hand side of the road, is a canal. As you pass the Palma Vista community on the right, there is another street approaching that crosses the canal, where cops sit. Sometimes when you approach and dont see them, they are actually parked 100 feet further back and out of sight, with radar set to the road. I live next door in Palma Vista, so I see them all the time and this is real. By the time you reach Petco, which is off the 441/Glades corner in the Publix shopping center, you are too late and often snagged. Speed limit is 45, and people fly at around 55/60.
