Cape Canaveral, Florida Speed Traps
In parking lot behind Straw Hat Lounge @ Atlantic+Central
One cruiser, sitting behind the bar clocking people eastbound on Central blvd
West Central Boulevard
Usually police cruiser or police motorcycle on the side of trailer park at Oak Manor drive going towards A1A, or the opposite way in the same area in the median going toward the beach is usually a police motorcycle shooting radar. The speed limit is 25mph.
On Florida-528 Eastbound as it becomes A1A Entering Cape Canaveral
Speed on Florida-528 eastbound reduces from 55 to 45 just before you enter Cape Canaveral and it changes to A1A. As you cross over the overpass they like to have either a marked car and/or chase motorcycles to catch speeders. Almost everyone maintains 55 going over the little overpass just before the Race Trak on the right, and the second you make it over, they have you. This was a notorious spot for about 3 months and now has less agressive monitoring, but still an occasional cop will be seen there. Also, if you do see someone pulled over getting a ticket, observe the new law about getting over in the left lane and slowing down, or you will get a ticket too! Just ask my wife!
N Atlantic Ave & Madison Ave (BP Gas Station)
Almost every night I see two Brevard County Sherriffs cars sitting front to back in the parking lot here, sometimes by the gas pumps.
Samuel Phillips Boulevard near Guard Gate
While traveling southbound on Samuel Phillips towards the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station’s entrance Guard Barricade, the posted speed limit reduces from the posted 55 mph to 35 mph, but as you start a slow right turn in the road, it suddenly reduces to 25 mph within a very short distance after the posted 35 mph limit. The police hide in the adjacent woods using radar.
