Carrabelle, Florida Speed Traps

All along U.S. 98, east of Apalachicola to Perry Florida , a 101 miles, the Florida Highway Patrol and County Sheriffs patrol this road closely for speeders. The road is two lane, winding and the speed limit is 35 to 55 depending which town you’re in. The biggest offense is when another car tries to pass another going under the speed limit. I.E., a car going 45 in a 55 mph zone and you pass the car exceeding the posted speed. Law enforcement writes citations for this infraction. If the car in front you is a slow poke, its best you be one too and not pass. Be careful!

New cop in town flexing his majority.

There is a new cop in Carrabelle that is causing a lot of anger in the city. Even on Thanksgiving morning he was posted at the bridge with his speed trap.
This area drops from 45 to 35 mph just before the bridge. Coming into the city on the east side he hides in the bushes with radar on west bound traffic.
