Clermont, Florida Speed Traps
US Highway 27 near Washington Avenue
In the median, at Minneola, two patrol cars one facing North and one facing South, difficult to see in dark valley. Or, during the day on the Right side if heading south, in unmarked brown/silver cars. Speed limit changes from 55 going downhill to a sudden 45MPH on the US HWY. There is a sign for reduced speed ahead, but the actual speed limit sign can be invisble and it’s difficult to slow down quickly in HWY traffic that isn’t slowing down. Also, going back uphill the speed limit changes back to 55.
State Route 561 near 12th Street
Watch out for the trap near the Indian Shores subdivision. Sometimes he hides in the ditch before the subdivision, and sometimes near the entrance so that he catches you in both directions. Speed is 45-55MPH by traffic flow, but 15-20MPH by limit. Same officer that traps people on Lakeshore drive about 2 miles away, near Anderson Hill, around Lake Minnehaha.
US-27, South Lake County
State Trooper sits in the center median in front of the Showcase of Citrus. Speed Limit is 65 MPH.
