Coral Gables, Florida Speed Traps
Ponce de Leon Boulevard near University of Miami
The perimeter roads of the University of Miami are heavily enforced by UM Police, especially late nights. (And yes, it is a Real police department that issues Real tickets). They will also follow you until you break a rule and may follow you outside the university for the “take down.””

Ponce de Leon Boulevard near LeJuene Road
Coral Gables police walking up and down the lanes looking in cars to see if you’re wearing seatbelts.

Andalusia Avenue near Anderson Road
The speed trap is where Anderson Rd. and Andalusia Ave. or others may know it as Biltmore Way. The cops hang out under a tree to get the people heading west there are at least 2 cops at one time there and they usually get 3 or 4 cars before the start to write up the ticket._
Alhambra Boulevard near Madrid Avenue
As Alhambra Boulevard winds it’s way thru the Gables, it curves to the right just before you hit the intersection (east bound at this point) of Madrid. Right past the sharp curve sits the motorcycle cops in the mornings usually looking for folks late to work in downtown Coral Gables and rushing. By the time you spot them after the curve it’s too late.
Greenway Drive near Coral Way
They Hide behind the concrete Fountain and sign leading into the Gables right on the Granada Golf Course. They get west bound traffic and can get it at the split in the road. Doesn’t matter stay on Coral Way or split off onto Greenway (can’t remember if it’s north or south Greenway) and go to the other side of the Golf course. They’re looking for folks to jump the light and boost their speed up to 40 or 50 mph to get past the light. It’s easy to do right there. Sometimes this turns into a Massive trap with a half dozen units all trolling on both sides. You’ll see a dozen cars on the side of the road waiting for their tickets. This is an enduring trap. Been going forever.
