Crestview, Florida Speed Traps

This Is a New One!!! Speed limit was 45 for years but recently was changed to 35 with no notice or apparent reason. Crestview PD have been using unmarked and marked cars to target speeders in this area. On one occasion, officers were standing on the side of the road with a radar gun and flagging down speeders near the intersection of Villacrest Dr. Coming off Hwy. 85 it is easy to accelerate to 45 or 55 without even realizing it. Be careful!

New light at intersection. Speed changes from 65 MPH to 45 MPH. Local and State law enforcement park usually on East side of HWY 85 and use laser to capture speed whenever vechiles pop over the hills in both directions.

Crestview Police sit in a vacant lot directly across from Aplin Apartments. The speed limit is 30 on this road. Cops use marked cars as well as unmarked (white crown victoria, green taurus, and white expedition). They will write you a ticket for going as little as 10 over, believe it!

FHP and Okaloosa County Sheriff’s office monitor this stretch of road frequently, from SR 85 North, all the way to SR 90 West. The posted speed limit is 35 mph and it is easy to exceed this limit without realizing. The most susceptible area to being ticketed is the SR 85 North end, near Davidson Middle School. There is also a blind curve that leaves you susceptible to being issued a citation._

From Yellow river bridge to the city limits of Crestview, Fl. the speed limit is 45 and well marked. Florida Highway patrol this area on a regular basis and will give out tickets regularly for any infaction over the posted limit.
They sit in the median at Antioc St and Hwy 90. There is a curve before reaching the traffic light at the bottom of the hill coming westbound._
