Dania Beach, Florida Speed Traps
SE 5th Ave between Sheridan and Dania Beach Blvd
Open one and a half mile stretch of two lane suburban road with 30 MPH limit; mangroves and bike lane on the East side, officially designated linear park with benches and walking paths on the West. Patrolled by Broward Sheriffs Office under contract with the city; they use radar and laser; 36 MPH and over earns a ticket.
Stirling Road near State Highway US-1
If you drive East of US-1 and go around the traffic barracade that is in the middle of the road on what would be Stirling but is called SE 2nd Ave, the officers (motorcycle and also have seen 2 in cars) sit and wait for cars to go around the barracade behind the hedge at Churches Chicken.
US Highway US-1 near in front of the airport
Southbound in front of the airport. Officer sits under the bridge that would take you into the airport. Speed limit is 50 in front of the airport but everyone usually does 55-60. Havent seen them in a while but that will change soon, its tourist season.
Dania Beach Boulevard
This trap is on Dania Beach BLVD about 1/2 a mile west of the intercoastal waterway. They get you going east or west and there are multiple cops that will flag down multiple cars at a time. I see them there 4 of 5 weekdays a week.
Lake Shore Drive near marina Drive
the broward county sheriff’s patrol car sits up the road unnoticed and as the cars come around the bend in the road( Lake Shore Drive) going over the 25 miles per hour limit he catches them. He’s there several times a week (different days) but usually around 4-6 or 7 PM. He catches people like flies to flypaper. He’s getting a “killing””in quotas at this sight in giving tickets!”
