Dundee, Florida Speed Traps

The Dundee police troll this stretch of road, the original speed limit signs are covered up, used to be 60 or maybe 65MPH and 50 MPH temporary signs are staked beside the covered up signs. This is a six lane highway, freshly repaved, very easy to not notice how fast you are going if there is nobody around you. Got nailed going 68, thought it was 60. 50 is way to slow for this rd and they know a cash cow when they see it BEWARE!!!!! Just drove from the airport on Easter, saw several people being pulled over. Watch for stop light cameras in Haines City too, avoid these towns at any cost!!!!

There is construction going on in Dundee at Highway 27 & Dundee Road. Be aware that the policfe like to hang out here and watch the intersections and both areas north and south of the light. I see them pulling a lot of people over.

Enforcement in Dundee is extremely agressive. Normally marked vehicles are used. The city has a total of 4 cars, they usually have at least 2 doing traffic enforcement. Usually they work stationary radar just inside city limits on SH 27. Normally parked in the ditch, difficuly to see. City uses older Ku band equipment. Any time the police car is on the road, the radar is ON! CAUTION: Many reports of motorists being stopped at 3 MPH over posted limit. Most of town area is 25 or 30 MPH. Extra attention to school zones, sometime officers stand beside car with handheld Ku.

Got pulled over unfairly for 200yd school zone with no light flashing. No signs posting of time of school in/out. Was going speed limit of 30mph. Pointed out to cop that light was not flashing but he closed his ears. Got hit with $300 ticket. Ouch, welcome to Dundee where they take your money.
