Hampton, Florida Speed Traps
U.S. Hwy. 301 at County Road 18
A few years ago Hampton put a traffic light on U.S. Hwy. 301 at the intersection to their town and squeezed the posted limit down to 55 from 65 for approx 1/4 mile. In the southbound lane of U.S. Hwy. 301 a deep red Chevy Impala Super Sport, with no markings, or a white Ford police interceptor, also unmarked, sits in a spider hole in a driveway just about 25 yards south of the traffic light in Hampton at U.S. Hwy. 301. If one is not paying attention it is easy to miss the sqeeze down in speed that once was 65 mph. The white Dodge SUV is gone and replaced with the red Impala. Same for the north bound side excepting they hide on the south side of the intersecion for north bound traffic behind a small grove of trees. The next town southbound is the nationally infamous Waldo.

County Road 18
This town is notorious for their speed traps. They have been known to change speed limits periodically on C-18 off of US 301 as you come into town from the West, so be sure to check the signs each time you travel through this town. Also, when you enter Hampton from the East on C-18, stop sign was moved from the adjoining road coming in from the North (?) and placed on C-18; then moved back to the other road. People were not used to stopping on C-18 as you enter town so they got quite a few tickets this way.
