State Highway 60 near US Highway 27
On Highway 60 in Lake Wales, as you’re going East on 60 – there’s an overpass over Hwy 27 – just as you go over the overpass, the speed limit is 40. LWPD is right there on the other side of the overpass (which is a hill) to pop everyone that comes over the hill…and I mean literally, Everyone!

Large speed trap in place this AM with about 20 officers. One cop is out on road clocking people and directing speeders to the side of the road where they have a remote command center. Crazy….

Officers on foot just west of overpass at SR 60 and US 27 will stand on side of road with radar and/or laser and clock vehicles as they come over the top of the overpass where speed limit changes from 60mph to 40mph. Officer on foot steps into road to pull direct you over onto side road just before mid-florida bank.
State Road 60 at US 27 Junction
This is a common speed trap on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings. Location is for SR60 traffic (east bound) on the east side of the US 27 overpass (Hump/Hill) and for west bound traffic on the western side of the Hump/Hill. Local Law Enforcement has found the value of hiding on the trailing side of a hill. Speed Limit signs are at least 30 feet from the traffic lanes making them essentially hidden,and officers do not give any warnings!
