Largo, Florida Speed Traps
Largo police have a habit of sitting on medians with their SUV sized vehicles under the East Bay Drive / US Hwy 19 overpass (partially causing visibility issues I might add)
Cop sits in driveway across the street on 8th and waits for people to roll through the Stop sign .Not a complete stop .they say Its not a 4 way stop .Coming north when you enter 8th ave on trotter .
All through the area, anywhere in Largo, if you see one of those "Your Speed" trailers, there will be cops there the following week. They run this frequently here, since it is a short cut between Ulmerton Rd and Roosevelt Blvd. They like to sit in the insurance company parking lot where the landscaping shields them from view until it is too late, but will sit on 142nd Ave, or up closer to the Melita coffee offices.
UNmarked Truck on side road. Officer walks into road with radar and catches people coming down hill from Indian Rocks road towards bridge over McKay Creek and opposite direction from Trotter down hill towards bridge. Waves you onto side street for ticket writers on the ready.
as you know the northside of the rd is belleair and largo to south both cities have jurisdiction on this rd. largo pd sits in the churches parking lot just west of the trail. also i spotted them sitting in an empty thats for sale on the southside of mehlenbacher.
