The speed limit is 60 mph, having recently been changed from 70 mph. THe Florida Highway Patrol and Sarasota County Sheriffs are running radar constantly.

Entire length of State Hwy 681, between U.S. Hwy. 41 & I-75
The speed limit on Hwy 681 between U.S. Hwy. 41 and Interstate 75 has been lowered from 70 mph to as low as 45 mph; no higher than 60 mph anywhere on it’s length. Patrol cars, both marked and unmarked, have large speed traps run 3 or 4 tiems evey week, Have seen as many as 5 patrol cars involved in the speed traps. (Laurel, FL just North of Venice, FL)
