Longwood, Florida Speed Traps
Lake Emma between Greenway and Longwood Hills
With all the construction on Lake Emma there are 3 – 4 motorcycle officers posted around the Barrington subdivision. The posted limit is 35mph but I would suggest doing 30. (betwen greenway & longwood hills, not longwood-lk mary previously reported in error)
Interstate I-4 and Rest area heading East
State Trooper hides behind the tree at the Longewood Rest Area.
Grant Street
Northernmost area of Grant street. the street curves around Candyland Baseball Park. Nice sweeping curve and the cops sit under the trees dead ahead as you come around the curve. It’s too late-they’ve got you. There is a 3-way stop as you pass the curve and they’ll tag you for incomplete stops as well.
Church Street near Ronald Reagan Boulevard
Police are hanging out in the community center parking lot. Alot of people use this street as a bypass and speed while doing so.
North Ronald Reagan Boulevard near Church Street
The Longwood PD has a brand new black Dodge Charger R/T. It is marked, but the markings are dark gray and it has a low profile light rack up top so it doesn’t stand out like their regular white cars with black and gold markings do. He likes to sit in the first break in the median north of Church Street (Points of Reference: Clock tower, Mona Lisa Restaurant, Granite and Marble Wholesale), facing north and clocking southbound traffic on North Ronald Reagan Blvd. The speedlimit changes from 40 to 35 a little bit before where he is posted and most vehicles, already going 5-10 miles over the speedlimit on the 40mph stretch don’t start slowing down until they get to the intersection at Church Street which is well within the 35 mph zone.
