Maitland, Florida Speed Traps
This speed trap is located on Maitland Boulevard (highway 414), in the eastbound lanes, on the overpass at Orlando Avenue (highway 17-92). An officer parks just over the crest of the bridge, shooting radar behind him as the eastbound cars approach. By the time you actually see the officer’s cruiser, it’s too late, and the ticket is all yours. I would see the officer at this location every weekday morning during my 8:00 am commute. I recently started taking a different route.
The area and streets around the RDV Sportsplex and 434 overpass seem to be monitored heavily. Watch your speed.
Police hide behind trees along Sandspur or around corner
Going East on Maitland Blvd. after passing Maitland Ave going over the overpass for 17-92 they sit on the side of the road after the top of the overpass and right after the speed limit goes from 45 to 35
Going east on Maitland Blvd just past Maitland Avenue the cop sits just over the bridge which dumps Maitland Blvd onto 17-92. Speed limit goes from 45mph to 30mph on bridge and when people try to merge into the correct lane the to get on 17-92 the cop is there to nab them.
