On 215 at bottom of hills.

Middleburg, FloridaSep 02, 20100 Comments

The cops will sit in their car at the bottom of the hills, so if you speed, you will be caught. The speed limit used to be 55, then they reduced the speed to 45, but everyone still speeds through there.

Intersection of Johns Cemetery Road and N. Dolphin Ave.

Middleburg, FloridaAug 13, 20100 Comments

Clay County cops consistently set this up several times a week. Sometimes, just a marked car, sometimes just a motorcycle, sometimes both. They never work it during the rush hours, only during the day between approximately 10 AM & 4 PM, and only for about an hour each time, including on the weekends. The speed limit is posted at 35 mph, but they have no trouble catching people exceeding the speed limit. In this one hour, or so, that they work this trap, they will have ticketed 5-10 cars. Look for them to always hide in the culvert area, between thick growth along the west side of the road, where it is hard for drivers to see them. They also work it in both directions, too.

Everett Ave, in front of the Fire Station

Middleburg, FloridaAug 13, 20100 Comments

Watch for a cop with a hand held radar gun, standing around the area where the firemen for the station park their cars. There is also a BBQ smoker there, too. They will only work one direction of traffic, and that is the southbound side of the 2 lane road. The speed limit on Everett is posted at 35 mph, but quickly drops to 25 mph, and then quickly drops again to 15 mph, all in less than 500 feet. The 15 mph sign is posted in front of the church, beside the fire station. The 15 mph speed limit is in effect all the way to the light at Blanding Blvd (SR 21). Because the speed limit drops so quickly, most people do not slow down until they see the 15 mph sign. This is where they get you for exceeding the 25 mph speed limit. The firehouse is also a fueling station for county emergency vehicles, so watch for cop cars at the fuel island, too.

State Route 21 near State Route 218

Middleburg, FloridaJun 17, 20070 Comments

City of Middleburg on Route 21 or Blanding. Speed drops from 45 to 35 at both ends of town. Police wait about two blocks from sign with radar. Sometimes they hide behind bushes. A team will be there and pull over almost every car. They like to work during rush hour and on Sunday morning. Will write for 5 and over. You had better be going 35 when you pass the sign or you will get a ticket.
