Midway, Florida Speed Traps
Be aware of the Santa Rosa County Sheriff… They like to sit at the begining of Bergren Rd off of 98….. Watch for the wooded areas and homes that are for sale as they will sit there and wait for speeders… Speed limit is 25 through the road but most people go 45
speed limit drops from 65 to 45 even when there is four lane divided highway.
Ten miles west of Tallahassee, 4-lane US 90 intersects I-10 and continues in a northwest direction toward the city of Quincy. The first quarter-mile or so west of the interstate, US 90 deserves its 45-mph speed limit due to the presence of truckstops, gas stations, etc. Further west, US 90 continues as a divided 4-lane highway in a totally rural setting–yet the speed limit stays at 45 mph for another 3 miles before jumping to 55 and then 65 mph. This stretch of highway (near the town of Midway) is swarming with highway patrol and sheriff’s vehicles who find easy pickin’s because of the low speed limit. By keeping my speed to 52 mph or less, I haven’t yet been pulled … there’s plenty of bigger fish to be ticketed.
