Highway 90 Eastbound Lane at Pizza Hut 35 MPH Surprise Zone

Milton, FloridaMay 16, 20180 Comments

There is an old but operating Pizza Hut on the eastbound lane of Highway 90 inside the City Limits of Milton, FL where the 45 MPH limit suddenly drops to 35 MPH.

Most days I travel past this Pizza Hut there is either a City of Milton marked black and white patrol car or a marked green and white Santa Rosa Sheriff Deputy SUV or patrol car sitting at this location ready to apprehend the unaware. They sit immediately in front of the posted 35 MPH sign with no leniency.

This entire 5-mile stretch of Highway 90 through the call center burg of Milton, FL is a drivers nightmare full of median cut throughs, large parking lots that adjoin the highway with cars parked everywhere, tons of strip centers and tons of senior citizens that should not be driving on any road anywhere to add to the fun (why are so many old people in Milton, FL anyway?)

Oh yeah, did I mention the nearby Highway 90 red light camera that flashes constantly catching ghosts going through the intersection?

WELCOME TO MILTON!!

Westbound, right where the school zone 20MPH speed limit starts. They camp out during the hours the school zone is active with the yellow flashing light.

FHP And County work Avalon Blvd like fleas on a dog’s back. The posted speed is 45 MPH in area with no entrances or exits, but plenty of places to hide.

Carpenters Park/Munson Hwy

Milton, FloridaJan 21, 20110 Comments

The speed falls from 45 to 30 going south on Munson Hwy. In front of Carpenters Park, at an empty building, county and city police love this area. You can’t see them until it’s too late.
