New Tampa, Florida Speed Traps

Long, straight stretch of road, good visibility, few side roads, unrealistically low posted speed of 45. Maybe as many as 30% of drivers obey this speed, but the Hillsborough County SO makes lots of stops for speeding. Driving the posted speed on this road seems to make those behind you angry and impatient.

A State Trooper will sit under i75 on bruce b downs on the east bound lane facing west (towards muvico, walgreens, etc) running Ka radar for oncoming traffic.

Not sure if they still do but during the widening of cross creek blvd, three police sat parked in the fire dept’s lot on the right side of the road about 1/4 mile after you get on Cross Creek from BB downs. They are not in their cars, rather two uniformed deputies stand under the traffic light pole on the right side of the road with laser. Got nabbed doing 54 in a 35 construction zone, was (thankfully) let off with a warning.

there are two major areas on this road, one is by live oak preserve and the wharton high school there are always officers waiting for you! the other just by interstate 75 headed towards bearss there is a church sign they hide behind!
