Orlando, Florida Speed Traps
SR 417 between Lake Jessup and University Blvd.
FHP and Winter Springs PD will sit in the median between the Lake Jessup bridge and Seminole County line. Typically at night, as there is no lighting in this area and it’s nice and dark. You cannot see the cars in the median until you’re on them. Seminole County SO will also sometimes use this area as well.
Lake County Turnpike 288/NB
Toll Plaza, the 25mph going thru the Sunpass lane….even though it is virtually inpossible to slow down from 75mph to 25 mph, there is a trooper awaiting to stop drivers exceeding the 25 mph.
1300 block of South Conway – 30 YARD SCHOOL ZONE
Speed limit is 40, then there is an overhead school zone sign at the 1300 block – very short school zone. Trees on the west side provide a cover for 3 or 4 motorcycle cops. You will be ticketed for as little as three mph over. You hardly ever see kids crossing there. Be careful especially near the end of the month – quota filling time.
Curry Ford Road
All along Curry Ford from Alafaya to the entrance of the 417, fhp are either in the median or just cruising up and down the road waiting for speeders. The speed limit is 45. But a lot of people do 55-60. I have seen numerous occasions of people getting tickets on this road. It is one big speed trap.
Innovation Way – to Avalon Park Boulevard
It’s a brand new road, with nothing around yet the speed limit is only 45 mph. Cops just sit around curves in the median and wait for speeders to come around. It is one big scam of Orange County. The speed limit is way to low, and cops make a fortune. Trust me…they got me.
