Ormond Beach, Florida Speed Traps
John Anderson Drive
When you enter John Anderson Drive from Granada, the policeman sit less than 1 mile up the road. The speed limit is only 25 mph.
Hand Avenue (between Nova and US 1)
The speed limit is clearly posted as 25 MPH in the 2-lane part of Hand.
Yet, it is 45-50 MPH on the other (west) side of Nova Road.
Unsuspecting people find it hard to adapt to this change.
Motorcycle cops are frequently waiting along this section of Hand Avenue.
Atlantic Avenue
Three quarters of a mile south of A1A and Granada, police sit at the vacant Shell Gas Station 20 hours per day. The motorcycle cop is especially vigilant early morning 6-10.
Hand Avenue near Nova Road
Motor patrol hides along north side of tree line approximately 4 blocks east of Nova Rd. This is a main avenue where the eastbound speed limit drops from 45mph to 25mph when crossing Nova Rd. Be advised if you hold a CDL license you won’t qualify for traffic school. Read your ticket not what he tells you.
Clyde Morris Boulevard near Hand Avenue
Motorcycle officers park in center median and are partial obstructed by construction signs and barricades. This is in a construction zone in front of a school. Speed limit is strictly enforced.
