Palm Bay, Florida Speed Traps

Palm Bay’s finest are running motorcycle speed traps on a more frequent basis on Culver Dr. near the Olser Medical Building. I personally observed on three different occasions groups of two to three cars being ticketed at the same time by two motorcycle jockeys. There are many places to hide in the woods along this stretch of road in order to conduct this highly successful revenue extraction process. Posted limit is 30 MPH.

You’ll get two or three cars in stealth on the median. We al know the speed limit here is 45mph but we do 55mph to keep with the flow of traffic. Once it slows down in the night time though they’ll but you for doin 51MPH and any kind of traffic infraction you might inccur. (I was hit for not stopping completely at a red light before i turned left and then proceeding to 52mph while my girlfriend got pulled over for doin 48MPH and not signalling when she changed lanes) Keep within 5mph and they’ll normally let you slide.

Palm Bay Police situate the squad car in stealth mode (all lights off) in the grassy median facing east on Malabar Road just west of the Hess gas station. They target radar on west bound traffic just east of the 45 speed limit sign where the limit is still 35. Malabar Road is 6 lanes wide at this point. They also run a night time trap that targets east bound Malabar Road traffic about 2 to 3 miles west of the trap mentioned above. It’s a familiar story: A family member believed he had entered the 45 speed zone but was cited for 49 mph in a 35 mph zone. Revenue extraction amount:$120.00.
