NW 4th Street (Behind Police Station/City Hall)
Police on motorcycle stand/sit behind tree near Shocknow(sp) museum driveway with radar gun pointing toward traffic flowing east. Frequent times are between 7:00-8:30 a.m.. Most affected are morning rush hour drivers taking a back road entrance to Broward Blvd. and who are slightly blinded by the glaring easternly sun. Posted speed limit is 30mph-but since street is relatively empty-drivers are usually caught going at least 40mph.
Peters Road between Turnpike and University
Motorcycle police sit parked in median and/or on side of road partially obscured by trees and light poles with hand held radar guns. They will step out on to roadway and wave drivers to side and issue tickets. Have witnessed several cars at some of these stops. Also, some police cars sit at intersections with radar guns hidden behind concrete walls lining the road and are partially obscured until you reach the intersection. They pull out and follow to issue tickets. Also looking for seat belts and current tags.
N. Figtree LN and Plantation RD
About 4-6 officers mix of M.cycles and Cruisers. They are at intersection of N. Figtree LN and Plantation RD on Figtree facing South and clock those heading North. Speed limit there is 25 so they get lots of action when they work it.
Peters Rd. Between University Dr. and Driveway to Whole Food
On the South West Side of Peters Rd at the Liquor Store before Chevron Gas Station. Motorcycle Cop’s 2-3 waiting for Cars turning out of the Albertson’s and Wacovia’s Eastern Driveway making a left turn to go east on Peter’s. They have not been there since Albertson’s has closed. Publix’s Grand Store is opening very soon around March 1, 2010 and Guaranteed they will get 50 Cars easy a Day.
pine island Road near fire station
the cop sits on the north side of the fire station facing the southboud traffic on pine island road
