Polk City, Florida Speed Traps

Along Polk County 580 (aka Cypress Parkway) from Rt 17 (Haines City) to Marigold Ave. (Poinciana), marked patrol cars cruise with Ka, sometimes instant on, sometimes steady. If you see a patrol car here it has radar and it will tag you. Also same road East of Marigold (aka Pleasant Hill) to 17-92 good chance of roadside trap. These will more likely be Laser during daylight hours. The reason for increased enforcement is doubtless from numerous resident complaints about hundreds of speeding dump trucks (some do 75 in a 55) and other construction vehicles constantly traveling this roadway. While enforcement is heavy, it is not unreasonable except where the limit drops from 55 to 45 on Pleasant Hill.
