north bound on 27. as you approch 98 the speed limit drops from 65 to 50 and there is a State police car in the median watching the cars . very slick
US Highway 27 near before community college
northbound, between florida hospital and the community college, there is an FHP car hiding just around a white building. They take advantage of the speed limit drop from 60 to 50.
U.S. 27 North
A uniformed officer will sit in a dark blue unmarked Ford Taurus which has 360 Degree radar and clocks cars going northbound and radios to another marked Crown Victoria parked just around the bend where you cant see them. For your 10-43 Sebring Police Department have 2 main Traffic Enforcement Officers, both drive slicktop #9, and #33.
Highway 27 South. (In front of Wal-Mart and Walgreens)
Constantly a speed trap. I have noticed they have started it in the last several months. The Sebring Police Department usually parks a marked Crown Victoria police cruiser w/ out a lightbar on the roof (usually car #33) and clocks the speeders and radios to another cruiser down the road and pulls them over.
US 27 North from Ponce DeLeon to Avon Park City limits
This area is worked by Patrol car, and Motorcycles. Both the Sheriff’ Office and FHP have been seen in this area. There appears to be zero tolerence. Speed fines are doubled. My friend paid $517.00 giving another person a ride to the airport.
