South Bay, Florida Speed Traps
Coming into and going out of South Bay the PBCSO writes enough tickets to get writers cramps most of which are legitimate.
Small town with one red light. Speed limit drop drasticly long before you see the town. At night you will miss the sign no doubt. Limit drops several times as you drive through town.
As one comes north on rt. 27 around the bend. The speed limit comes from 55 to a sudden 35 mph. This is a small poor town that apparently needs the income from speeding
tickets. Also watch out going southbound.
As you come into the city the speed limit drops from 60 to 50 to 45 to 35. Watch your speed at this is a large revenue generator for a low income city.
The speed jumps from 70 to 45 in rapid succession as you turn a sharp bend just west of town; one police car waits, and an officer flags violators into a parking lot where 3 or more officers write tickets. I got caught at 59mph while I was decelerating around the bend on labor day, 2000.
