Spring Hill, Florida Speed Traps
Elgin Blvd and Chamberlain St.
Esp. westbound on Elgin Blvd before Chamberlain, but I’ve seen both directions enforced. Traveling westbound, the speed limit drops from 45 mph to 35 mph just before you negotiate a slight RH curve (under the power lines). HCSD will set up behind trees/shrubs at Chamberlain and pop you. I’ve also seen them at the same position using binoculars for what I think is seat belt enforcement.
Spring Hill and Barclay/Anderson Snow
If you are coming westbound on Spring Hill Dr. toward Barclay, they sit in the first enterance for the Publix shopping center. The speed limit drops from 55-40 by the Suncoast and most people don’t then it picks back up to 45 but most people are doing 55-60 and the road curves a bit then they catch you coming around the corner. Once you see them it’s too late, they have seen you.
County Trunk County Line Rd.
Heading east on County line Rd it’s 2 lane with residential and commercial driveways on each side ,55 MPH. As you a approach the Suncoast Exp. interchange the road splits to 4 lane divided like highway and drops to 45 mph. They sit under the expressway bridge and nail ya with laser before you have a chance to slow down if you see the 45mph sign.4 cars and 2 bikes waiting for ya. They get ya going east or west. Stand in the road and direct you to pull over. I use the speed control now.
Spring Hill Drive near Parker Avenue
They sit at the Dentists office on the corner in the parking lot in the west bound lane. It’s right as you’re coming to the top of the hill and the sun is setting and in your eyes. They walk right out into the road, make you pull over into the parking lot and BAM! you’ve got a ticket
