34th street South and 12 avenue South

St. Petersburg, FloridaMar 17, 20131 Comments

Its normally a single cop standing on the sidewalk/grass wearing almost regular clothes with a radar gun somewhat hidden in hand! The place where they stand is in front of an adult school called PTEC you can see big semi trucks there! Once you get past the cop with the radar if you were speeding there are several cops waiting to pick you up! I notice them there more in the mornings from 6:30-9:00am but I wouldnt be surprised if they are there at other times because there are 2 school zones! I think the speed limit is 30 when not blinking for a school zone and 15 when it is blinking! Just pay attention to the signs and you will be ok! Thanks

16 St. No. is a lightly traveled 4 lane undivided street with an artificially low speed limit of 35 mph. This street also feeds traffic to a local high school so it has become an opportunity to gather revenue. Police sit on the side streets and use radar.

Pinellas Bayway westbound at Isla Del Sol shopping center

St. Petersburg, FloridaMar 28, 20120 Comments

A marked or unmarked car will be parked behind some bushes just before the east entrance to the Isla Del Sol shopping center. Between five and seven St. Petersburg Police squad cars are lined up facing westbound, chasing traffic going either westbound or having turned southbound onto SR 679 (Pinellas Bayway South) towards Tierra Verde/Fort DeSoto. This trap is very productive. This trap is set several times a month.
