I-10 Ditches of Leon County – WORST FHP TRAP IN FLORIDA!!

Tallahassee, FloridaMay 15, 20180 Comments

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) in their never ending quest for additional State budget funding tries to impress nearby Tallahassee State Legislators in the Leon County area by running the largest and most illegal speedtrap in Florida.

Numerous reports of as many as 20 – 30 FHP marked cars and SUVs hiding in ditches below I-10 grade lined up in rows like jackals waiting for motorists to exceed the posted 70 MPH limit and pouncing speeding themselves up and out of ditches startling and scaring other motorists as they wildly chase the lawbreakers.

Never have I seen a larger waste of law enforcement resources and manpower in this scam every time I have to pass through Leon County on I-10.

And the FHP claims to be short on manpower? There are at least 25 troopers assigned to this operation almost daily.

This scam is even worse than the Miami I-95 overpass speedtraps the FHP runs.

Never once have I seen a kid even ride a bike or let alone walk the crosswalk..no crossing guard.. It’s a school zone on a major road…over a 1000 yards away from the road…every parent picks their kids up except for a few on a couple busses.

There are a couple of spots on I-10 in Tallahassee motorists should be aware of.

One affects westbound traffic – the hiding spot is in the ditch just past the Centerville Road overpass (around Mile Post 205). You can’t see them until you’ve passed them, so it’s definitely a sneaky spot.

The other mainly affects eastbound traffic. There is a small area on the east side of the Miccosukee Road overpass (around Mile Post 207). Like the other spot, you can’t see them until you’ve passed by because of trees and other vegetation concealing the area. Again, sneaky sneaky.

Coming down the hill from Thomasville Ga. to I-10 Entrance.

AS you are coming down the hill on Thomasville Road toward the I-10 Entrance about a half mile from the entrance, a city Police car will be on the right side in the dark waiting for you, this was late in the evening time around 11 PM.

On 10/27/13, they had a speed trap set up using aircraft to nab us. At least 5 squad cars were being used to intercept the speeders as the aircraft ID’ed them. There were three other cars pulled over when I got pulled over as well.
