Extensive monitoring devices have been added to this intersection. It was not a problem intersection. Many automated tickets are now being issued on the red light east bound. Pedestrians are rare. Accidents are rare. Right on red is allowed. Nonetheless, automated equipment will cite you with red light violation if you have a rolling stop before turning right. You must make a complete stop.

the trap is set up on the westbound lanes of fairbanks just before 4 rivers barbecue. they catch people who have just turned right off of 17/92 (mills ave) onto fairbanks. they are using lidar guns. there are four to six WP police officers parked, taking turns to pull over drivers. they stand on the sidewalk and clock people.

For the past 3 weeks cops have been sitting in the Popeye’s parking lot catching speeders that have just come from passing over the railroad. They have a person clocking at the railroad, radio the cops in the Popeye’s and they walk out during red lights at the intersection and direct people to pull over.

Randomly manned speed trap – Speed changes 25 mph to 20 miles per hour around Alabama Dr near Via Bella and remains 20 mph until Palmer Ave ends at Park Ave. Officers work in teams stationed at Via Bella ( east bound traffic) and McKean Circle (west bound trafic). Officers will stand on corner with radar gun and wave speeders into side street for fellow officers to tickets.
