Dolphin Drive & Green Spring Circle

Winter Springs, FloridaJul 15, 20100 Comments

Patrol cars like to sit in the parking lot for the tennis courts near the townhomes. Dolphin Drive has a lot of curves on both sides of this location and they can get you from either direction as soon as you come around a curve. They are usually there at least once a week. Be aware if you drive through the Mt. Greenwood subdivision on Dolphin Drive. There are several other "spots" on this same road!

Between CR 419 and Tuskawilla Rd and then between Tuskawilla and 417 Expressway, cruisers frequently sit in the median waiting for you to exceed 50MPH limit on four lane divided road. They really love to sit there at night with their lights off.

417 Expressway near State Highway 434

On the 417 the speed limit is 70. Getting onto the off ramp and going thru the speed pass lane you are only given a short distance to go from 70 to 25 which is difficult to do if there is 1 or more cars right behind you also dong 70 and exiting at the same off ramp right behind you. Officer sits at the bottom of the off wrap with a laser and if you are going anything over 25 when you go through the speed pass booth, he will walk out into the middle of the road and wave you over to the side. Figure on $188.50 for a fine and expect no mercy no matter if you have never had a ticket in Florida or not.

It is a speed trap every week, I have seen different officers set up as many as three times a day. They park behind the 7-11, on down, off the road in the trees, in the subdivison, and stand in the shade where you won’t see them, with the radar gun.

Usually up to three cars and or bikes. They hide just behind the cement wall. They lean their radar guns above the green box.
