Abbeville, Georgia Speed Traps

They sit off the right side of HWY 280 going East to Rhine. They get the most coming from Rhine going West into Abbeville. If you are traveling in and around Abbeville, Georgia be very careful. If you have anything wrong with your vehicle they will also stop you. I know this for a fact because I got stopped going 50 in a 45.

The state patrolmen and Putnam policemen are sitting here so frequently I feel like bringing them a cup of hot coffee some mornings when I’m driving by on my way to work, maybe a donut too. Highway 441 Bypass is a major thoroughfare before and after UGA home games, and the squad cars are always out in force. Slow down around Eatonton.

Cobb County Police sit on shoulder just south of I-285 South on-ramp from Paces Ferry Rd. and shoot laser mainly. Will aim at ramp or interstate. Usually dark outside. Have seen them there anywhere from 9 PM to 2 AM.

Every day the local PD is banking big bucks on this route. The fines are huge because of the businesses and churches (also considered schools) located on this road. Never go over 50mph ever! The police hide at the gas stations and the used car lot so they blend right in.

I’ve never been caught but this is a speed trap. It’s Cobb County PD getting tickets coming off of a hill just before you cross into Cherokee County. The motorcycle cops will walk out into traffic to stop the car that they want.
