I WAS STOPPED BY A POLICEMAN ON MOTORCYCLE CLAIMING I WAS TRAVELING 43 ON A 30 SPEED LIMIT ZONE. I WAS FOLLOWING THREE OTHER VEHICLES ON THAT STRETCH AND I WAS SELECTED. THE POLICEMAN WAS NOT HOLDING THE SPEED DETECTING GUN UP WHEN I SAW HIM SITTING AT THE INTERSECTION. AFTER HE ISSUED THE TICKET, I ASKED HIM TO SEE THE DEVICE AND HE TOLD ME TO GET OUT OF THE CAR AND FOLLOW HIM. I DID AND SAW THE READING SHOWING 43 ABD ANOTHER NUMBER SHOWING 480. MY SUSPITION TELLS ME THE TEADING WAS NOT RECENT AND THAT PROBABLY OTHERS HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE SAME READING. HAVE OTHERS BEEN ISSUED A TICKET WITH THE SAME SPEEDS AS MINE?

I-75 from Atlanta to Macon

Atlanta, GeorgiaApr 26, 20140 Comments

This entire I-75 corridor is the domain of both the local sheriffs and the Georgia Highway Patrol. This has to be the longest speed trap known to man. Speed, even a little, at your own risk. It’s nothing personal. The Georgia LEO’s know I-75 is a major north-south Interstate and a ticket-writing haven. The average victim is from out-of-state & won’t show up to contest the ticket so they take advantage of the opportunity. There is very little that can be done except set the cruise at the speed limit.

Briarcliff Rd, northbound just south of Sage Hill Shpng Ctr

Atlanta, GeorgiaApr 20, 20141 Comments

Motor cycle cop on right hand side, just barely out of sight, north of the bridge. Traps motorists coming around the curve. The speed limit there is 35, but by the time they arrive at that point most drivers are going around 45. The cop is usually there in the mid mornings between 10 and 12 on weekdays.

Central Avenue and Decatur Street, Downtown Atlanta

Atlanta, GeorgiaFeb 06, 20140 Comments

If you turn right at the corner of Central Avenue and Decatur Street in downtown Atlanta, expect a ticket. Yes, a no right turn sign is posted – but on the LEFT side of the street! Police are very aware of this and a business owner in the immediate area told me police on motorcycles ticket motorists at that spot all day, every day.
